An early edition of Tito Agnoli’s adjustable 387 floor lamp, with a nickel-plated steel pole and travertine base. The original Cornalux ‘hammerhead’ light bulb can be moved to any position on the pole. An elegant and practical expression of minimalist thinking.
An icon of modernist lighting design, Peruvian-born Agnoli (1931-2012) studied architecture in Italy and interned for the likes of Gio Ponti and Carlo de Carli. While informed by the Bauhaus movement, his beautifully engineered lighting anticipated the rigour and efficiency of industrial design.
In good vintage condition, with some light tarnishing to the metal and scuffing to the travertine base. Pair available.
