Scarpa white canvas Monk chairs

Formidable husband and wife team Tobia and Afra Bianchin Scarpa created interiors and furniture that embraced the materials of each design and the interplay of technology and aesthetics. They met studying architecture at the University luav di Venezia, graduating in 1957.

The Monk chair is one of many distinctive and highly regarded designs from the pair. Its humble form is comprised of two key materials, solid wooden legs with a sling fabric seat in leather or canvas.

This set of four come in white canvas in excellent condition having been professionally cleaned. The legs remain in the original ebonised finish. Only some minor signs of use and wear commensurate with age.
