American industrial designer and entrepreneur Ron Rezek (b. 1946) studied under Charles Eames and Henry Dreyfuss at UCLA, before launching Ron Rezek Lighting in the late 1970s. His sleek Stratos model, designed in 1988, turned the ceiling fan into a design object. As he said: “Most of the fans on the market were reproduction Victorian fans, and if a guy had a Mies van der Rohe apartment in Chicago, he probably wasn’t going to put one in there.”
Spiralling curves, with a sparseness of modernism, defines this pair of Art Deco revival, enamelled steel wall sconces.
The sconces have been recently rewired and PAT tested to UK standards. The steel enamel is in good condition, true to its age.
