Piet Cohen (b. 1935) is a Dutch designer known for his sculptural lighting, often drawing on organic forms and marine references. His work from the 1960s and 1970s explores the interplay between material, light and surface, with a particular sensitivity to texture and patina.
Cohen’s lighting pieces use hand-worked metal to create forms that both contain and reflect light. His designs often evoke natural themes, translated into a restrained modern language. The Schelpdier wall lamps shape patinated metal into mollusc-like forms, their curved surfaces opening outward to diffuse light softly.
The pieces are in good condition. Rewired and PAT tested to UK standards.
