Paolo Piva (1950-2017) was an Italian architect and designer whose interest in social housing influenced a career in making minimalist, elegant and functional buildings and furniture. In his “Re Quadro” coffee table, negative space counts as much as positive space, as the upper square element appears to float above the lower recessed square, creating a gorgeous recursive effect. There is a serenity in which these black lacquer forms interact in space and combine with the cube of chunky travertine stone below.
It comes in good vintage condition, tabletop has been recently restored however some marks remain.
