Aldo Tura (1909-1963) was a hands-on designer who experimented greatly with traditional craftsmanship, hand-applied craft processes and finishes out of his workshop in Milan. He is best known for his tables and lamps, which drew on shapes from the Art Deco and Art Nouveau movements. His designs were minimal, allowing materials such as parchment, eggshell and goatskin to take centre stage.
This pair of plinths are an excellent example of Tura’s ethos, simple shape with soft edge profile. They boast bountiful storage options, with a recessed shelf that can also be utilised. They are in good vintage condition with some light wear to the surfaces.
