Antique oak coffer

Coffers – traditionally used for storing valuables – are some of the earliest types of furniture on record. The oak of this simple yet robust chest has a warm colour and patina and is imbued with historic charm.  

The piece features general surface wear and sign of previous woodworm. Some of the legs have been cut and replaced, as well as the hinges.
