Marzio Cecchi prototype table lamp

Marzio Cecchi (Italian, 1940–1990) was a Florentine architect, designer and artist. His best known designs were for Studio Most. His creations received awards due to their functionality, aesthetic and innovation in materials.

This lamp is a signed prototype from a series of experiments with resin coated fabric, used to form the shade of a lamp. It’s unique form and casts a lovely warm light. In good vintage condition, signature and some markings to the surface of the shade. Please note this is a prototype, so does not have the refined manufacturing of an ‘in-production’ piece, but it is a wonderful rare collectable and has been recently rewired and PAT tested to UK standards.
