The son of haute couturier Giulia Carla Cecchi, Marzio Cecchi (Florence, 1940–1990) imbued his furniture designs with the flair of a costumer. He went on to found design manufacturer Studio Most after graduating in architecture from the University of Florence. His untimely death cut short his creative process, drawing a line under a limited but diverse body of work.
This rare floor lamp is an exercise in balance. Three elegant stems emerge from a circular metal base reminiscent of a cartwheel, meeting with a slim central pole just below the uplit bowl shade.
Recently rewired and PAT tested to UK standards. It’s in good vintage condition, with a lovely aged patina to the painted red metal and some markings to the surface of the shade.
