Salvino Marsura was born in Treviso in 1938 and learnt his craft in the dynamic workshop of sculptor Toni Benetton. His ironwork art and furniture relishes in the manual aesthetic of the forge, giving voice to the raw metal and the processes of its manipulation including sweltering heat, hammering, bending, and welding. The results can be beautifully abstract, geometric, or sensitively responsive to observation of natural forms. This delicate mirror brings all these qualities to the fore, combining the primary geometric shape of the circle with the sinuous forms of petals and flower stems.
In good vintage condition, metal surface has a lovely patina with blue, green and red notes subtly peaking through. The artist’s signature is engraved on the surface.
