Marco Zanini silver-plated chalice

A rare and distinctive modernist vessel designed by lesser-known Memphis co-founder Marco Zanini. It bears Memphis hallmarks in its bold subversion of classical forms but eschews the movement’s saturated primary shades and pastels. 

Zanini (b.1954) met Ettore Sotsass as a fresh architecture graduate in 1977 and went on to design ceramics, jewellery, furniture and objects for the Memphis Group’s collections. He now works from São Paolo as an architect and designer.

In good vintage condition, with some light tarnishing to the surface.
