Leif Wikner pine dining set

The practise of designer, woodcarver and craftsman Leif Wikner (b. 1938) came to life upon seeing warm light fall onto a piece of bluewood. It triggered his imagination and he began to explore the ways in which different pieces of wood were affected by light and form.

The dining table and chairs are formed of solid pine cubes of engrained wood, showing the beautiful rounds of crosscut tree trunks. It is a modest masterpiece of form following function, with studied consideration of formal balance and geometric harmony.

The table can comfortably sit four to eight people with the accompanying chairs. Structurally solid, surface patina, minor losses and oxidation from age, further restoration available to preference.
