The practise of designer, woodcarver and craftsman Leif Wikner (b. 1938) came to life upon seeing warm light fall onto a piece of bluewood. It triggered his imagination and he began to explore the ways in which different pieces of wood were affected by light and form.
These dining chairs are formed of solid pine cubes of engrained wood, showing the beautiful rounds of crosscut tree trunks. They are modest masterpiece of form following function, with studied consideration of formal balance and material harmony.
These chairs sit perfectly around the accompanying table, which is also available to purchase. Preference to sell as dining set. Structurally solid, surface patina, minor losses and oxidation from age, further restoration available to preference.
