K. J. Pettersson & Söner Palle stool

Made in the Scandinavian tradition, this sculpted stool by K. J. Pettersson & Söner is weighty in solid pine. Several lengths of wood are joined to reveal a gridded effect at either end, while the scooped out centre serves as ergonomic seat. Little is known about the wider output of K. J. Pettersson beyond this charming stool, often misattributed to Axel Einar Hjorth.

Gently restored, with some light cracking and age-related wear.
