Fine examples of Jean-Michel Frank and Adolphe Chanaux’s blocky rectangular club chair, officially reissued by Ecart from 1978. Designed in the 1930s, its simple yet sophisticated form remains strikingly modern nearly a century later.
Frank (1895-1941) was one of the most sought-after French interior and furniture designers of his time, creating elegant ‘modestly luxurious’ pieces. He opened a studio with cabinetmaker Adolphe Chanaux in Paris, which thrived until the Second World War forced its closure.
In good vintage condition. The leather has been recently reconditioned.
