A rare Arenzano table lamp designed by architect, engineer and designer Ignazio Gardella (1905-1999). An éminence grise – Gardella was a powerhouse behind the scenes, founding Azucena, alongside Luigi Caccia Dominioni in 1947. He came from a long dynasty of architects who fathered the Italian Modernist movement.
This decorative lamp is perhaps most distinctive for its graceful curvatures found both in its milk glass shade and brass stem that rises to form a handle. It produces an ambient light created from three small under-mounted bayonet bulbs. The glass is in good condition with light age to the base and stem. Rewired and PAT tested to UK standards.
