An expressive piece of Italian midcentury design, the Prisco coat stand is constructed from solid iron rods bent to form graphic lines and curves. The hooks can hold eight coats and eight hats.
Franco Campo and Carlo Graffi met whilst studying architecture at the Politecnico di Torino under the tutorship of Carlo Mollino. The renowned designer recognised the pair’s ambitions and facilitated the production of their pieces in Turin workshop Apelli & Varesio. In 1956 Campo and Graffi founded AtelierHome, an initiative founded by the desire to manufacture well-made design for the masses.
The piece is in very good condition for its age with minor surface wear.
