The M1 T70 table’s clean and elegant form was rooted in Angelo Mangiarotti’s desire to create an impressive table in substantial materials without any visible joints. Designed in 1969 for Skipper, it is made solely from solid Arabescato marble, in an interlocking system where the weight of the round top keeps it secure on its conical pedestal.
Architect and industrial designer Mangiarotti (1921-2012) was guided by the belief that developing a form could only follow careful interrogation of a material. This prolific period also saw the production of the Lesbo and Saffo Murano lamps for Artemide (1966) and the Giogali chandeliers for Vistosi (1967). He was awarded the Compasso d’Oro award for lifetime achievement in 1994.
In excellent vintage condition, with a newly restored top. Available from December.
