Sturdy, simple, and stripped of excess. This twentieth-century silver-plated basket reinterprets the traditions of Georgian and Victorian silverware. Historically, such baskets would have been placed at the centre of the dining table, used to present bread or fruit.
This basket distils the silverware tradition to its essentials. A hand-hammered finish brings texture and tactility, but otherwise the surface is unadorned. Its Brutalist quality lies in its heft and material presence. The elliptical handle becomes the defining gesture —clean, sculptural, and structural. An object that invites attention not through ornament, but through line, texture, and form.
