A remarkable feat of design and innovation, the Throw Away sofa by Willie Landels (1928-2023) stands as a groundbreaking piece in furniture history; it was the pioneering example of a sofa crafted entirely from polyurethane foam. Landels, a multi-talented creative force encompassing roles as an artist, graphic designer, art director, magazine editor, and furniture designer, was born in Venice in 1928.
Recently reupholstered in a pale green short pile velvet by Rose Uniacke, the sofa preserves its iconic form. Please note, this one has had its base replaced with a wooden one.
