With the appearance of a sandstone cliff or holey cheese – travertine is a golden natural limestone formed in hot springs and limestone caves on land. It is stronger than marble and the holes are caused by CO2 evasion when it’s being formed. In the 70s and 80s, following on from Italian stone houses like Up & Up and designers like Mario Bellini reviving it a decade earlier, you saw some interesting-shaped anonymous pieces, usually coffee and dining tables appearing in the material, coming out of France, Italy and Scandinavia.
This table comes in two solid geometric blocks. Can be used alone or in combination in an odd pair with another one we have available. Great condition. Heavy, needs two people to lift.
