Urano Palma coffee table

This solid wood coffee table, possibly made of elm, was designed and crafted by multidisciplinary artist and designer Urano Palma. A figure of the Avant Garde, Palma was perhaps best known for his intricate handmade pieces in wood, such as this one.

This coffee table dates from the 1980s and has an architectural quality to it, referring to ancient parquet motifs, and classical patterns in construction. The ingenuity of the wood placement shows both the artist and maker’s mind behind Palma’s design process.

Its condition is excellent, having been sensitively restored and re-polished.
