The late Ingo Maurer (1932 – 2019), founder of design company Design M in Munich, designed intriguing lighting for over 40 years. His output is distinctive in form and concept. His desire to innovate with materials, processes and aesthetics has lead to some highly eccentric works.
This pair of large table lamps were designed by Wilhelm Zanoth and Maurer together in 1974. The lamp’s base and shade are made from thin slices of dark cork sheet veneer. The lamp’s minimalist cylindrical base and conical shade, natural facade and unusually large size make them highly distinctive and sought after. They are in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear. One shade has some scuffing to the rim. Rewired and PAT tested.
