Named the ‘Amoeboid’ by the designer, the table has become known as the ‘Cloud table’ also after its form. Designed by Neil Morris for Morris & Co, Glasgow in 1947, it exploits the design possibilities of laminated wood by combining French polished Honduras mahogany and Canadian Betula – the chamfered edging exposing the different layers to great effect.
This piece has the maker’s plaque attached to the underside, which is rare to find still present. This table is in very good vintage condition with few signs of past use.
