This rare double bed was created in 1966 for Prisunic. It speaks of futurism moulded from white-dyed fiberglass. The bed has two sections that sit together to house a double mattress. The elevated headrest features two integrated side tables with blown glass lamp shades and inbuilt switches.
Marc Held is a self-taught designer and architect who spent the majority of his career in Paris, now based in Greece. His adventurous work has spanned fibreglass, large Industrial buildings, vehicles, ski suits and spoons.
The bed is the best condition of any you’ll find out there. The surface has been restored by a plastic conservator, the colour brought back to off-white. The shades, missing, have been hand-blown to match the originals. The wiring has been replaced and PAT tested for use in the UK. Ready for another 50 years of life.
