Marc Berthier is an industrial product designer whose aesthetic is derived from a rational problem solving approach. His long career has seen his designs awarded with some of the industries most respected accolades such as two Compasso d’Oro, a Grand Prix National de la Création Industrielle and three Forum Design Awards. Berthier’s designs are also held within the permanent collections of the Musée National d’Art Moderne, the Arts-Décoratifs Museum and the Fond National d’Art Contemporain in France, and the MoMA in New York.
The Ozoo desk by Marc Berthier is a futuristic expression moulded from white-dyed polyester and fiberglass. As an early example of single-moulded fibreglass, the desk is incredibly lightweight yet sturdy. The production process influenced the design greatly, allowing for angular shelf to display open reference books and papers, as well as a stationary tray and pen pot. It is very good condition with minor scratches to the surfaces in places. It is a more pleasing ivory colour with age.
