Luigi Caccia Dominioni, one of the world’s oldest practicing architects when he died in 2016 aged 103, was according to Pin Up magazine “the architect’s architect”. Visible in every street corner in Milan and championed on the pages of Domus, his works evoke Baroque and Milanese tradition while being totally innovative. In 1947 he co-founded Azucena along with Ignazio Gardella, the Bidone a signature piece from their collection.
The Bidone light is designed so that it can be adjusted across several heights. Made from nickel-coated brass and frosted hand-blown glass, the design is elegant and sleek yet has an understated functional feel.
The glass elements are in good condition whilst the frames and mounting brackets have some pitting and patina across their surfaces and show signs of use.
