An abstract constructivist sculpture, in oxidised metal by Jonathan Miller CBE (1934-2019).
Miller was a very successful theatre director and television presenter, as well as a great sculptor. Miller treated his sculptures like collages, resurrecting abandoned scrap pieces of metal to create what he calls 4D collages. This piece has been made from an assemblage of steel forms with substantial weight, left to rust to an oxide red.
Entitled ‘Metal Composition No. 4’ and is signed/engraved with the artist’s name. In good condition, the metal oxidization gives it a pleasing patina. Some scuffs and hallmarks of age.
