Italian architect Ernesto Gismondi co-founded Artemide in 1960 with Sergio Mazza, which to this day produces some of the most innovative and interesting lighting coming from Italy. A true innovator he was also one of the founding members of the Memphis group, alongside Ettore Sottsass.
This pair of Stria wall lamps each feature three adjustable visors that allow for the user to manipulate the direction of the light. As a result the lamps are great for creating interesting mood lighting effects as they can simultaneously be used as a uplighter, downlighter and everything in between. They are beautifully engineered and can be mounted vertically or horizontally. There are a few minor marks that show signs of their age. Rewired.
