Achille Castiglioni Taraxacum 2 pendant

Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni designed the Taraxacum 2 pendant lamp in 1960. This historical piece of Italian design was part of a trial by the two brothers to reinvent a material used in the military. Flos acquired the patent first owned by Heisenkeil jurisdiction of Merano, for a fibre of sprayed plastic polymers. The result is an elastic and resistant membrane with the appearance of vellum that stretches over a metal frame. Minor ageing to underside.
