Named the ‘Amoeboid’ by the designer, the table has become known as the ‘Cloud table’ for obvious reasons. It was designed by Neil Morris for Morris & Co, Glasgow in 1947. It exploits the design possibilities of laminated wood by combining french polished Honduras mahogany and Canadian Betula – the chamfered edging exposing the different layers to great effect.
Great restored condition. A very very slight wobble to bolted joint – doesn’t affect usage or structural integrity. A matte spray lacquer finish which is much more hardy than other oil or wax finishes, without chipping badly like varnish.
We have another ‘Cloud; table in stock that is slightly smaller in a french polish finish – please check listings or enquire.
