This intriguing handcrafted chair and stool were designed and made by artist Thomas Tempte. Tempte is known for creations depicting rural Swedish landscape, through the manipulation of wood inlay techniques. His artistic practice translates raw materials into rich pastoral textures. He has designed several pieces of furniture, some using his inlay, others exploring more traditional cabinetry.
This chair and stool are crafted from three materials, the body and legs from Linden wood, the binding hemp cord, all fixed together by darker hard wood pegs. The mix is meditative and unique. Signed and dated on the underside in pencil.
