This eye-catching chair designed by Theo Ruth for Artifort cuts a really pleasing profile. Ruth joined Artifort in 1936 as a skilled furniture maker working across their entire range. In a short period of time after joining them he was promoted to lead the development of new pieces in collaboration with established names such as Pierre Paulin. The design of this chair was inspired by a typical construction method employed in Africa where two parts simply slot into each other to form a strong yet very comfortable seat.
Reupholstered in a forest green velvet to compliment the lacquered curved wooden legs. (Picture makes the green slightly more olive than in real life.) In excellent condition, light wear to legs.
