This striking coffee table attributed to the Italian manufacturer Casigliani is made from marble columns and textured glass. The four marble legs each tapper whilst their facades have been systematically chipped to create a rough yet tactile surface texture. This process, upon closer inspection, rather beautifully reveals the innate structure, pattern and colour of the stone used. An asymmetric organic shaped is cut into the textured glass top that sits on top of each of the legs. The legs can be positioned as desired. The refined playfulness of form and intricate manufacturing technique makes this piece an interesting and rare example of the Italian design ethos during the 80’s.
In excellent vintage condition with a few minor scratches to the top.
