A painting by the Ukrainian artist Pierre Grimm (1898-1979). Born of a German nobleman, Grimm lived all over as an artist, graphic designer, photographer and set designer – including in Ukraine, Moscow, Crimea, Constantinople, Zagreb, Vienna, Berlin and eventually settling in Paris. After World War II Grimm turned to abstract art. His works were featured at the Autumn Salon (since 1929), the Salon des Tuileries (1939), the Salon des Indépendants (1957).
This piece is a signed abstract composition on paper from the late 1960s. It features texture and gouache. Small tear.
