The dynamic forms and kinetic compositions of a Futurist work of art are applied to furniture in this set of shelves from the 1930s, attributed to Mario Olivieri. Its sleek lacquered wood and angular rhythms give the shelves an aerodynamic quality in keeping with modernist optimism in technology. Appears in the literature: Ruta Anna Maria, Arredi Futuristi, Episodi delle case d’arte Futuriste Italiane. 1985, Edizioni Novecento, p. 117
The piece has been re-lacquered and museum treated for past traces of woodworm – work guaranteed.
