The S70 chair was manufactured by Lammhults, a well known Swedish maker founded in 1949 and still going today. The chair was designed by Börge Lindau and Bo Lindekrantz and is perhaps the manufacturers most recognisable piece to date. Launched in 1968, the S70 was presented as part of a much wider series of pieces including ashtrays, coat hangers, tables and chairs.
The cheeky looking form is in part characterised by its simplistic anthropomorphic legs created using a continuous piece of thick tubular steel. A wooden seat is fixed below creating structural integrity whilst firming up both legs. The metal legs show minor scratches. The wooden seats have losses to the paintwork. We can refinish the seats on request.
