This unique desk is crafted from a large slab of fossilized stone excavated from Morocco. The production is attributed to Draenert of Germany, owing to their production of similar coffee tables. Simple in form, the design centres around the qualities of the stone itself. The top sensitively showcases fossils from the Devonian period. On one side the top sits on a faceted curved base, on the other it is stabilised by a cylindrical metal column. It bears the makers embossed metal plaque. The stone surface finish is in good vintage condition. There is some minor scratching to the metal and a hairline crack to the surface following the natural grain from edge to edge.
