An early Dutch mid century floor lamp designed by Floris Fiedeldij for lighting manufacturer Artemite Soest in the early 60s. A fine example of classic understated Dutch modernist design. The heavily weighted base allows the lamp to balance in any position it is fixed in. The metal finish is nickel plated which is a good indication of early production. Undocumented however design of the distinctive clasp mechanism could only be the work of Fiedeldij.

In every good original condition with slight patination to the hood and a few age related usage marks and one or two gentle knocks to the base. Recently rewired.
