This ancient ‘neck amphora’ is full of character, with two asymmetrical nipples or
protrusions on its base and raised decorations at the top of its handles. Crafted 4,000 years ago, it has aged beautifully, and is stippled with pale pink and terracotta hues. It was likely made to carry wine.
Provenance: From an English private collection. Possibly purchased at auction or from an art gallery during the 1970s or 1980s.
