A striking set of chairs with a sculptural presence, designed for the renown Italian furniture house Sormani. Claudio Salocchi (1934–2012) worked as an architect and furniture designer, known for detailed research into furniture layouts. As a result, we see innovative compositions without compromise on function for which he was awarded a Compasso d’Oro award in industrial design.
The four chairs have a burgundy lacquer which has some wear and crazing. They have been recently upholstered in a wool bouclé by Pierre Frey and are in good vintage condition.
