1950s birch cabinet, model CB01 cabinet designed by top Dutch designer Cees Braakman for UMS Pastoe, Netherlands. Constructed from birch ply there are shelves to the interior, a pull out laminated desk with stationary drawers and two of Braakman’s signature bent ply drawers to the right unit. Would also work well as a drinks cabinet unit for a dining area.
After WWII, Braakman was sent to the US to learn about new production processes. Inspired by Eames’ use of bent ply, Braakman returned to develop his laminated birch ply series. This cupboard is in excellent original condition.
