Two forms, one on bronze and one in stone, gently interact in this small but dynamic sculpture. Couples are a recurrent theme in Wiersma’s work, and her emphasis is often on intimate gestures that connote security.
Carla Wiersma was educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Utrecht, from 1974 to 1979 (sculpture and ceramics). She took part of solo and group exhibitions in Holland and Belgium. She designed many sculptures, commissioned by public and private parties. In public space, she made sculptures for example on a square in a Dutch city, in a hospital and entrances of several companies.
Excellent condition, some minor patina to surfaces.
