This quirky floor lamp has been skilfully crafted from bound coiled rope. The use of woven rope is strongly suggestive of French furniture designers Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet and may well be by their hand. These designers innovated with rustic seagrass rope cord as a reaction against the machine aesthetic they perceived at the Paris Exposition des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels of 1925. The lamp combines a bucolic charm with a refined minimal form.
The shade is in good condition and produces a warm glow. Likewise, the base is in good condition with a few minor surface scuffs in places. It will be re-wired and PAT tested prior to delivery.
